It’s been a little while since I last checked out Nitrux. Since then they’ve released a new version, 1.2.9. Some of the updates in this version include additional work done on the Mauikit applications, it now ships with KDE 5.18.5 and it also includes Krohnkite which is a kwin script to enable tiling windows on your KDE desktop. In this video I briefly go through the changelog for Nitrux 1.2.9 check out the new tiling feature and compare the Mauikit applications that are included to their Android counterparts using scrcpy.
Is you can see from comparing this version with the last time I looked at Nitrux here, they’ve gone back to a pine and dock layout instead of the one panel solution. This is something I was happy to see as I personally feel it adds a little bit more polish to the overall look and feel of the desktop. You can read more about the new features of Nitrux 1.2.9 here and you can download the Mauikit applications here. What do you think of this new version of Nitrux? Let me know in the comments below.
