We have a new and rather attractive Linux distro to feast our eyes on! It’s built independently which means it isn’t based on any other distribution out there. It uses XFCE as it’s desktop environment with some nice visual tweaks to make it look more modern. It has a package manager called ‘sys-app’ which you can use to install new applications either in with a GUI or command line. It appears to currently be in beta and there isn’t a whole lot of information available on their website. Overall despite it’s rough edges I think they’ve managed to pull off one of the nicest XFCE desktops around. The developer also seems to have a good sense of humor, which always helps 😉
I had to break my tradition of always installing to bare metal as my system was having trouble installing it. We are using a virtual machine which we assigned 4GM RAM to and 4 CPU cores.
