Today I checked out a newer entry into the BSD world with NomadBSD. NomadBSD is intended to be installed onto a flash USB drive and has persistent storage. I installed it to a 64gb Sandisk 3.0 USB stick. The installation process was extremely quick and straight forward and lets you choose which shell, file manager and text editor.
It comes installed with OctoPkg which is a GUI package manager where you can install and remove programs if you aren’t comfortable with the command line. It also comes equipped with Firefox, the full LibreOffice suite and pretty much everything else you would need to get you up and running. Overall I’m really impressed with with this operating system so far and will 100% keep an installation of NomadBSD. For a full run through of my first impressions watch the video below ;
